Software of the Week: UberIcon

I have a love for eye candy, as i thought Microsoft simply had not provide enough in Windows. Even if there are, most of them are just not ready for my computer, for example, the resources hogging Windows DreamScene. Therefore, i always search online for interesting yet resources preservative eye-candy software.

UberIcon is one of them, and it is actually the one with the least resources consumption out there.

UberIcon is a software developed by Punks Lab for non-commercial use. It is capable of creating brand new effects on the icons and folders of your desktop, which will enhance your desktop experience to another level. UberIcon is a freeware and it comes in many support of different languages. Users can also download from their website, many more other plugins which adds new UberIcon effects to their desktops.

Here are the system requirements for installing UberIcon:

• Windows 2000/XP/2003
• 300Mhz or faster CPU
• 5MB RAM free
• 16bit color or higher

Even though the system requirements listed on their official websites does not include support for Windows Vista, i had tried it out on Vista and it seems to work fine. If it does not seem to work, try running it in compatibility mode.
