Software of the Week: Thoosje Sidebar

When people take their first look at Windows Vista, the first thing they started mouthing is always the glossy & slick interface...which of course, includes the Windows Sidebar. Problem is, people refused to migrate from XP to Vista because Vista, in their opinion, is too memory-heavy & process leeching. When they stick with their own XP, they started drooling with the cool interface of Vista.

I once detested Vista too, but even during that period, i craved of owning the beauty of Vista on my XP. I pulled out lots of modifications and facelifts over my XP to the extend nobody even realize that it was just an XP. One of the modifications i attempted is in the form of installing an application software which emulates the Vista Sidebar. This then, is the software i'm going to introduce today-the Thoosje Vista Sidebar.

Thoosje Sidebar is developed to be part of the famous Vista Transformation Pack for XP, but it is also available as a standalone product. While it is mainly aiming people owning the Windows XP platform, Vista users can also use the software by turning off their original sidebar and installing the Thoosje version. Installation is pretty easy and straightforward; after installation it requires you to turn on the sidebar at your own interest.

Like the original Vista Sidebar, Thoosje Sidebar sits comfortably on the right hand side of your desktop, with several pre-available sidebar gadgets & skins available. Users can visit their website to download more gadgets & skins should they demand in more interesting stuffs. What makes Thoosje Sidebar interesting though, is that it allegedly uses 50% less RAM than the original Vista sidebar, making it a lot more resources-friendly.

Without asking too much, Thoosje Sidebar is essentially a sufficient component in your effort of transforming the XP interface into Vista-styled. Not only it looks as genuine & realistic as the original sidebar, it works & functions just as the original sidebar....all FREE OF CHARGE!!!
