I am currently writing at Computelogy.com actively and that's why i sort of abandoned my own tech blog. Since i am too busy to be taking care of both sides, i guess this blog will go into hibernation for a very very long time. Regrettable, but then it's hard to come up with new posts & stuffs.

So once again, i am now writing actively at Computelogy. Feel free to visit there and enjoy our latest articles and posts!

Get Free Paragon Drive Backup 9 Professional (Save $40)

Back again! I came back from university some time ago and have not eaten anything, yet. I opened my personal laptop and there was an email to get free Paragon Drive Backup 9 Pro. I am happy. The reason is when I am tired and I receive some good news, I cheer up. Now, I am not feeling tiredness anymore. One other reason of being fresh is in previous few days I have shared many security software along with some other zero-day offers which saved your hard earned money. Now this is the time again to save $40 by getting free Paragon Drive Backup 9 Pro.

It looks like this is the same installer which was given away few days ago on GAOTD. The other reason of being same is the link to get Product Key and Serial number is same. So, if you have missed it at that time, it is better to get it now.

I finally finishing “scanning” through your posts. Very detail explanation and a very good blog layout. Do you have any recommendation where you get the blog template?

Since today is the day I know about your blog, don’t mind me asking some IT questions as I gather around your posts. I think you and Techgeek might be different in some way in term of explanation.

I refer to your post on: http://digital-plexus.blogspot.com/2008/11/online-threats-trojan-horses.html. I thought SpyHunter Security Suite is a Rogue Anti-Spyware?

According McAfee SiteAdvisor(the add on for firefox), although is rated green, I click on the siteadvisor. User reviews on McAfee ALL saying that spyhunter is a Rogue Anti-Spyware.

I went to further searching on and found 1 article on spyhunter. - http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080902024047AAScYhe

And also I was just wondering what do you consider is the best antivirus(free n paid), anti-spyware(free n paid) and anti-malware(free n paid) in terms of low resource, good definition, low false positive, fast update.
And also give some comments about my blog as I hoped to improve more @ http://ezysolutions.blogspot.com/. The best is also include your 1st impression about my blog. Thanks :D

I appreciate your patience in scanning through all my posts,JiaHao. That was really some effort!

I forgot where i got this template already, but i do have the file. If you like it then just mail me @ chin88skywalker@hotmail.com and i'll send it to you. On the other hand, TechGeek had much better suggestion on blogger templates so you might want to ask him as well.

About the post on Trojan Horses, you and the rest of the community might be right. SpyHunter is officially labeled as a working antivirus by some organizations but of course some community might recognize it as rogue because of the extremely annoying way the program works and of course, its pushy advertisements.

However, i can only tell you that whether SpyHunter is a rogue or not is still undetermined. The best way to support my answer would be for you to install a Firefox add-on known as WOT. WOT flagged the website & its offerings as suspicious but they did not label it as bad because there just isn't enough proof to say that the company is offering rogue antispyware. On the other hand, it might be rogue as you said because this post is rightly nearly a year ago so some of the contents might not be accurate anymore.

If you ask me which are the best antivirus and antispyware and antimalware, i can't give you an accurate answer. The best way to find out is for you to download and test all kinds of security software yourself, then give feedbacks to any community. I would recommend Kaspersky, BitDefender and Avast! as best antivirus, and MalwareBytes & SUPERAntispyware as best antispyware for example, but then if you refer to official antivirus tests such as VB100 test, you'll find out that statistically the best antivirus is Avira & GData. Security software is a very huge topic, and it covers not just definitions, false positives, updates etc, but recently also various security features such as HIPS, Cloud Detection, Virtualization and Rootkit detection. If you want me to explain everything here in one go, it is just not possible.

About your blog, ezysolutions, i will go through it in detail as soon as possible. But first impression is that i think you're doing a good job. Perhaps you can even write for my blog as well! =)

I will comment more on your blog at your blog.

Thanks for your long "essay" answers . Hahas. I will go bug TechGeek for the time being for the templates :P
I will try using Firefox add-on-WOT.
Kaspersky is very heavy on my computer when I scan and uses almost 100% of the cpu. Maybe it is not so compatible with my laptop. On the other hand, TechGeek's fav antivirus, Bitdefender also have some problem with my laptop. Every time I already done the window updates, but bitdefender keeps showing the same old updates that I need to install. For Avast, the last time I use, is quite difficult to use and it does not have a very nice interface. Avira slows down my PC boot time. My laptop sure have a lot of problem. I’m using HP Pavillion dv6000. So I'm currently stick to my school antivirus which is Symantec EndPoint Protection which does not slow down my computer nor use up a lot of resource when scanning.
For VB100, do you mean by this website: http://www.virusbtn.com/index
I agree with you that Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware is 1 of best free available anti-malware. I am using CounterSpy as my anti-spyware protection. I’m currently searching for a better anti-spyware that’s uses less resource. I used SUPERAntispyware before, which I think also use much more resource than CounterSpy.
I think I’m a bit greedy. :X I hoped that you will write more on Security software on various security features such as HIPS, Cloud Detection, Virtualization and Rootkit detection. (Comparison)
I feel that your blog looks more professional compare to mine in terms of the layout and the colours of the font that the template uses.
Thanks again for your patient in explaining everything.

James 8/25/2009 1:18 PM

I believe your point that Kaspersky & Bitdefender can really use a lot of memory when scanning, but your point about Avast depends on personal experience. I find Avast a very easy antivirus to use. Even if you don't like its default skin (the media player looking one), you can always search for a better skin, the best skin being Avist! which i wrote about in my older post. You can try to find it by typing avist in the search box on my blog.

And remember as well, every antivirus will definitely slow PC boot down, not just Avira; the only difference is the lag time. Also, if you are using major security suites like Internet Security, you don't really have to install too much antispyware, because normally those internet security would have covered it.

You might want to check your PC for problems. HP DV6000 by design should be running default, Core 2 Duo with SATA hard drives & powered by NVidia graphic cards, making it a very nice PC for entertainment purpose. Its spec is much better than the Presario V3000 series i'm using right now. If i didn't complain about antivirus slowing down my PC, then you shouldn't be - unless your pc got problems.

Don't mind about blog template being professional or not (i think yours is beautiful, btw). What's important is the content, not the layout, right?

Charles 8/25/2009 7:23 PM

Then I think might be my school programs that slow down and the school setting in my computer.

Charles 8/25/2009 8:25 PM

I use the Firefox addon-WOT and the result is a yellow rating which is unsatisfactory.

I also search through using Norton Safe Web on http://www.enigmasoftware.com/. Norton also like McAfee, rated green which is safe. But the community rating at the right side saying it may harm your computer. (http://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.enigmasoftware.com%2F&x=20&y=6).

Anyway, thanks for your "add-on" help. I will certainly blog 1 on this.
