Get Free Incomedia WebSite X5 Smart Edition 8 (Save $30)

As promised, I am back now. I hope Christmas holidays are started all over the world and people are enjoying winter.

Website designing is an art. You can not just start designing without any purpose. You need to have some reason. If you have reason, you can create the best design in the world. Google can show you thousands of useless design along with hundreds of useful designs. You will also notice that website designs for a special purpose are always demanding money. Normally, you have to pay for such designs/layouts/templates.

Why should you pay? when you can create a website without paying a penny and just in 5 easy steps. Yes, I am talking about Incomedia WebSite X5 Smart Edition 8 which you can Get Free. Creating website with  Incomedia WebSite X5 Smart is so easy, it was never been before.  Incomedia WebSite X5 Smart Edition 8 is a complete visual program and you do not have to press a single key for coding. Imagine, the past time when you have to write hundreds of thousands lines of code to create websites.

Incomedia WebSite X5 Smart Edition 8 is not a full version. It is striped down version of  Incomedia WebSite X5 Evolution 8. It will be missing many features of Evolution but still worth of keeping with you if you do not have  Incomedia WebSite X5 Evolution 8.

Introducing Incomedia WebSite X5WebSite X5 is designed to work like a wizard, visually guiding you through a series screens in which you can insert all the necessary information to create and publish a complete, functional and professional website. There are five basic steps guiding you the programme, taking you from a simple idea to a professional website:

1.
General Settings
After selecting the project to work on and inserting some general information about your website such as Description and Keywords for the Search Engine indexing you should select the template for your website. You can select a template from one of the 28 (default limitation of Smart Edt. but you can add more later) models pre-installed in the programme or create your own. In addition to the basic template style you can also customise both the header and footer of your website.
2.
Plan Website
The programme automatically adds a Home Page for your website, however all other pages must be added manually. In order to create your website you must first think about the information you would like to present and how - by undertaking this simple task you can start to create your Site Map. You can set up to 4 levels and an unlimited number of pages, simply use the buttons on the page to do so. The programme will automatically set the navigation menu based on the map you create. You can modify your site map at any time by simply choosing Step 2 "Plan Website" from the vertical menubar.
3.
Create Pages
Creating the pages is a simple process, first you must think about what information you would like to present on the page and then you can use the tools on the page to create the basic grid. Once you have created your grid you can drag and drop objects from the Objects panel in to your grid; these include text, images, Flash™ animations, videos, sound, tables and much more. Each object can be customized and can be modified for you to insert links to both internal and external resources. The programme also has a built in graphic editor which allows you to fully customise images without the use of any external editors.
4.
Advanced Settings
After the basic website is compiled you can customise the appearance such as menu, text and scroll bar styles. With the internal graphic editor you can create 3D buttons and enhance that look and feel of the page elements. In addition to the webpage style you can also add many extra features such as multi-language welcome pages, reserved areas, a blog and an e-commerce shopping cart.
5.
Export
Once your website is finished you can upload the finished website to the Internet via the inbuilt FTP engine. Once you have uploaded your website to the Internet any updates or changes you make to your website can be easily uploaded - you can opt through the software to update only modified pages. As well as uploading to the Internet you can also export the entire website project file to a new location either on the same computer on which the project was created or to a new computer altogether.

Hitman Pro, the World's First Ever Multiple-Engine-Powered Cloud Virus Scanner

It's common knowledge that a system is best to have only one antivirus onboard...well, sort of, because there ARE some antivirus pairings that work well together, for example, Kaspersky with Microsoft Security Essentials. Problem is, sometimes malware still get pass your system undetected, even when you have two antivirus installed on your PC. You can always upload suspected files up to online scanning service such as VirusTotal.com, but then what if you don't know which file to suspect? Surely you can't upload everything one by one?

Hitman Pro, a cloud-based virus scanning software developed by SurfRight, has the closest answer to the problem above. Unlike Panda Cloud Antivirus or Immunet Protect, which are both independent cloud antivirus, Hitman Pro utilizes FIVE scanning engines as their in-the-cloud detection, where users can immediately scan their PC directly from the desktop. Like all cloud scanning technology, Hitman Pro is designed to be portable, light on system resources, requires minimum interaction and improved scanning time. Hitman Pro also works alongside any existing antivirus software without compatibility issues. The free version of Hitman Pro allows users to scan their PC for infection (with a free 30-day period removal), while the paid version allows users to scan for and remove infections from their PC.

The five scanning engines are publicly revealed as G DATA, Avira, ESET NOD32, Prevx CSI & A-Squared Antimalware, although one can argue that with this lineup, Hitman Pro is essentially utilizing 7 scanning engines, since GDATA uses the Bitdefender and Avast scanning engines, while A-Squared uses its own scanning engine together with Ikarus scanning engine. According to inside sources, Hitman Pro carefully chooses their scanning engines based on their distinctive advantages. G DATA and Avira is chosen for their proven high and accurate detection rate, while NOD32 is chosen for its famous ThreatSense heuristic scanning engine. Prevx is chosen for its HIPS detection and rootkit detection while A-Squared is chosen for its antispyware and common malware detection.

Hitman Pro scans fast and reliably, identifying the main key areas for scan based on collective intelligence from its five scanning engines. On its scan result page, it displays the amount of files scanned and the total time taken for scanning the files. It is also more configurable than Panda Cloud Antivirus, A-Squared MalAware and Immunet Protect in some areas, notably the option to scan the PC during every computer bootup.

The limitations of Hitman Pro, however, is that is is meant to be a scanning and removal tool instead of a monitoring tool. Therefore, it is recommended that users still have a real-time antivirus running on their desktop. If users decide to rely on Hitman Pro for detection, then they must frequently scan their PC for infections. Since the free version does not provide removal, Hitman Pro is also not a really good free virus scanner for novice users who does not have sufficient knowledge in manually removing malwares.

All in all, Hitman Pro is the best portable cloud virus scanner available for both novice and advanced users.

Hitman Pro is currently a v3.5 final release (Build 80), available in both 32-bit and 64-bit. Windows XP, Vista, 7 and all Server OS (2003 & 2008) are supported.

Top Ten Free Antivirus of 2009

I keep track with developments of antivirus software nearly everyday and have get myself into testing various kinds of antivirus. Same as last year, i decided to summarize my topics on antivirus for the last month of 2009 by re-adjusting my list of top ten FREE antivirus of the year.

1.Microsoft Security Essentials

Who'd thought that Microsoft's home-made security solutions would take the number one spot? Previous versions of Microsoft Live OneCare sucks bad in detection in my opinion, but after revamping and redeveloping the scan engine into what was now know as Security Essentials, the antivirus actually sort of outperforms lots of existing antivirus in terms of detection rate, speed and usability (why, it caught some malwares on which Avast! and Kaspersky missed in my independent testing!). The only nuisance about Microsoft Security Essentials is that it can be very harsh on the CPU, especially during computer bootup.

2. Avira Personal

Last year's number one antivirus, Avira, has been taken off the top of my list, but that doesn't mean it is bad. Avira still has one of the best detection rates out there for a free antivirus and is actually easy to use and pretty stable and consistent with its detection rate and performance. However, malware database update for Avira can be a painstaking process (this is due to server overload on which Avira has yet to find a solution). Also, Avira sometimes throw up lots of false positives, especially if users set the heuristic level too high.

3. Avast!

Avast! is one of my favorite antivirus (no bias intended) because it is interactive, simple to use, and quite light on resources. In fact, Avast! outperforms both Avira and Security Essentials in terms of performance, consuming less RAM and CPU power on idle. Detection rate is reliable and consistent too. The bad thing though, is its ridiculous, media player-like user interface which looks as though it is lacking professionalism. Besides, Avast has been sticking to the v4 label for more than three or four years already, without any significant upgrades or optimization in its features. Let's just hope that the significantly improved Avast! v5 Beta can come out of beta as soon as possible.

4. Panda Cloud Antivirus

Panda is the first company to popularize cloud-based protection and actually was successful at it. It requires users to sign up for a Panda Cloud account in order to use its protection features but then it's pretty much worth it; Panda Cloud Antivirus utilize cloud-based scanning which means that user's PC does not slow down to a crawl during scanning and detection rates are greatly improved. The only problem is Panda does not seem to offer lots of side features apart from scanning and reports, which might not be attractive to advanced users.

5. Qizhi 360 Security (known as Qihoo 360 Security in some media)

This might sound unfamiliar to most but then it is a very popular free antivirus in China, barely a few months old into its official launch. Qizhi 360 Security is a Chinese antivirus which utilizes a modified BitDefender scanning engine with additional enhancement from Kaspersky malware database, making it a very powerful antivirus free for use (In fact, it totally outperformed local Chinese antivirus such as Rising and Kingsoft till a state that those companies started complaining Qizhi 360 Security...). It is easy to use, consumes extremely little resources and also offers gaming mode, a function not available in most free antivirus software. Despite this, Qizhi 360 Security's installer is extremely hard to download, thanks in no small part to the extremely poor download server used by Qizhi. Also, the antivirus is available in Chinese language only, which is rather disappointing for non-Chinese affiliated users.

6. AVG Free

Despite claims that it is the most widely used free antivirus in the market, AVG's performance says otherwise: The antivirus is getting more and more bloated and resources hungry with every release, has a so-and-so detection rate and often conflict with lots of software, which has never happened before in previous releases. Regardless, it is still considered quite easy to install and use and actually is quite easy to configure, second only to Security Essentials and Panda Cloud Antivirus.

7. PC Tools Antivirus Starter Edition

Not much change has occured with the PC Tools Antivirus; in fact, i have a weird suspicion that the 2010 version is essentially a rebranded version of the 2009 version...with no major upgrades or feature tweaks. Nevertheless, PC Tools serve well for those who ask for simple protection and nice user interface. Only problem is, unlike the top 5 antivirus mentioned above, PC Tools is significantly heavier on PC resources, which does not make it an attractive antivirus to use on a low-end PC.

8. SecureIT 2009

Another lesser known antivirus - SecureIT 2009 is essentially an Internet Security packed with firewall, online protection, popup blocker and integrated antivirus and antispyware module powered by ClamAV. It does not have a glossy user interface, but it does offer all-round protection with moderate PC resources. Only problem with SecureIT 2009 is the scanning engine itself: since when did ClamAV ever made an impact on the antivirus industry? Nevertheless, SecureIT 2009 can be considered the best antivirus around that uses the ClamAV antivirus engines, and i appreciate that.

9. Immunet Protect

Another cloud-based antivirus. Like Panda Cloud AV, it requires users to sign up in order to enjoy its features, but then there are lots of issues to iron out. From that bulky-designed interface to the lack of features, Immunet Protect does not strike me as a better Cloud antivirus than Panda Cloud Antivirus. It is still currently in beta stage, but then i guess we can give credit to Immunet Protect, since it does work as advertised and most importantly: it is light on resources and actually scans at super-fast speed in comparison with Panda Cloud Antivirus, which is significantly slower.

10. DriveSentry

The only antivirus on the list that utilizes whitelisting and HIPS technology extensively. DriveSentry is in my opinion, a decent antivirus for advanced users. Like Norton, DriveSentry is another antivirus company that emphasize innovative technology development in more efficient detection but then with a massive installer size (more than 90MB excluding its database), slightly confusing interface and fewer database update than conventional antivirus, it is not the best antivirus for novice users. It does have an impressive interface and scanning speed though, and is thus, still a good addition to users' existing antivirus protection (being one of the few antivirus to be able to run side by side with other antivirus).

Customize GIMP by hacking the GIMP Splash Screen

This is a trick i discovered by myself out of interest since i'm a GIMP fan, but a simple search had revealed that this trick has in fact been taught by others. Anyway, today i'll tell you how to change or in a professional-looking term, hack, the GIMP splash screen.

For those not being friends with GIMP, i must first show you how its splash screen looks like:

Now after doing some hacking you can get it to look extremely small like this:

Or this, which is the optimum size:

Or even large-sized Splash Screen, so gigantic, it even exceeds my monitor screen!

So how do we customize the Splash Screen? It's easy. Just navigate to the 'images' folder located in C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\images and identify the splash image 'gimp-splash'. Delete the image (make a backup if you intend to re-use the default splash screen) and replace it with some other PNG-extension image which are renamed to 'gimp-splash' (this is important, because GIMP only recognize a splash screen by this name). If there is something wrong with your hack, GIMP will start without the splash screen.

To enhance the customization experience, it is best for you to use an image which is at the original splash screen's default image size, 275x400. If you are good in graphic editing and image creations with Photoshop, GIMP, Paint.NET or other image editing tools, you can even create a custom GIMP splash screen with the GIMP logo on it!

Note: Do not worry that this customization will damage GIMP. The startup splash screen is intended to create some sign of activities for users of GIMP, so that users will know what is loading in the background; GIMP will work fine regardless of whether the splash screen is there or not!

Windows 7 USB/DVD Installation Tool Is Back & Still Free!

Windows 7 only:

I thought some of you might be unfamiliar with this tool or what it does, so i'll give a simple description here: Windows 7 USB/DVD Installation Tool is a utility software developed by Microsoft for users to create a bootable USB or DVD of Windows 7. All users need is an .iso file of the Windows 7 installation files, and this little tool will guide you all the way without being too technically confusing. Cool, isn't it?

For those of you who bothered about this little tool last time round, you might remember that the Windows 7 USB/DVD Installation tool was forced to be pulled off by Microsoft - not because it is not working or it is buggy or flawed, but because of some legal nuisance on which they didn't purposely committed. You see, Microsoft used open-source code in making this tool but didn't label it so and yet marked it as a closed-source software! Talking about accidental carelessness in the first place...LOLX

However, Microsoft had promised that the tool will make its comeback when everything's settled and they kept their promise: this little useful tool for reinstalling or backing up your Windows 7 is now back for good, officially open-source and currently hosted on CodePlex! So, users who would like to grab a copy of this tool, you can now properly download it at the CodePlex site.

Download Windows 7 USB/DVD Installation Tool now by visiting the CodePlex site.

Get Free BufferZone Pro v3.21-41 (Save $40)

Computer security: Physical or Virtual is very important. The major reason to use computer security is to secure our valuable data stored in computer. Fortunately, personal computer security software are not much expensive and a person (not student or unemployed. lol) can easily afford it. Virtual security software are like Internet security software (BitDefender, Kaspersky, Norton, Panda, etc), virtual environment software (Sandboxie, BufferZone) and some sort of alarming software (LAlarm) to prevent physical theft.

BufferZone is The Best Companion of your Internet Security Software. If you remember, sometime ago I wrote about LAlarm (Free for personal use and recommended). Read LAlarm again to get one more security layer. The triangle of these software can be a best security package for your computer.

BufferZone creates a buffer (virtual wall) around any application which is accessing Internet e.g. Internet Browsers, P2P applications, messengers, etc. By creating a buffer, it is in fact securing your computer from being attack by any Malware.

When you run an application inside BufferZone, you will see a Red-Border around the application which indicates that a buffer is created and now whatever you with that window, no Malware is gonna harm you.
